Ian McGlocklin is an Emmy award winning director of photography based in Los Angeles, California. He has traveled the globe on projects ranging from narrative to documentary and into some of the most dangerous places in the world; including Afghanistan on the indie film “Black Tulip,” and into the icy waters of the Southern Ocean on Animal Planet’s “Whale Wars."
Having over ten years of experience as a former gaffer, Ian has emerged as a DP who is at home with lighting as he is with composition. He is an honors graduate from Emerson College and member of the International Cinematographer’s Guild (ICG) and the Society of Camera Operators (SOC).
In 2015 Ian won a Daytime Technical Emmy for Cinematography on the PBS show “Mind of a Chef." He has both a US and UK passport for easier travel and work possibilities. Ian continues to hone his craft as a director of photography, second unit DP, and camera operator for shows airing on CNN, CBS, FOX, TNT, A&E, Discovery Channel, History Channel, Travel Channel, and more.
